Jam City to launch rotational Product Management Resident program for aspiring Product Managers

Blog, Jam City

At Jam City, Product Managers drive the development and success of some of the industry’s largest mobile gaming titles that reach millions of players globally. Combining analytical and creative thinking, Product Managers manage the business behind our games and use data to inform strategic decisions in the pursuit of delivering a world-class player experience. They operate at the center point of our game teams, collaborating with Producers, Designers, Engineers, and beyond in pursuit of innovation and growth. Our Product Management org is consistently expanding and we’re excited to introduce a new pathway for aspiring product managers to join our team: Product Management Residency.

Jam City’s Product Management Residency Program will be a one-year rotational program that develops and nurtures early talent into the product leaders of tomorrow. From Day 1, Product Residents will be charged with taking an active role in de-coding what makes a mobile game successful at Jam City and will take ownership of multi-layered game development projects, while also receiving mentorship and guidance from some of the best product leaders in our industry.

As a Product Resident at Jam City, Residents will undergo rotations that begin with a Product Management boot camp where they will ramp up on the fundamentals of successful product management in gaming before embedding themselves within our development studios for another two rotations. Product Residents will partner with Directors of Product and studio leaders, as well as present original ideas to game teams throughout their various rotations. With each rotation, Product Residents will pick up new skills in problem-solving, live operations, analytics, and feature development, all while being hands-on with our games. With the goal of creating a one-of-a-kind experience for Product Residents, our first round will consist of a small, selective cohort that will experience rotations together.

Our Product Management Residency Program will launch in Q1, 2022, and is now accepting applications via our careers site. The first round of the program is open to masters students who recently graduated in 2021 (Spring 2021 or later) and have full-time availability from January 2022 through January 2023. Recent grads from MBA, Business Analytics, Data Analytics and Insights programs are highly encouraged to apply. Product Residents must also be based in the U.S. during the time of their program.

The Product Management Residency program will look for aspiring Product Managers that come from diverse backgrounds and bring different, fresh, and new experiences and perspectives. We will be looking for those with an entrepreneurial spirit, lovers of data, self-starters, and a passion for creating delightful, best-in-class games for people around the world.

Our Product Residents will be the future leaders of product at Jam City and we’re looking forward to continuing to design and build programs that allow more opportunities for early-career talent in our industry. This is only the beginning and we can’t wait to see what our Product Residents bring to our teams.
